Recent decades have seen a stream of catastrophes around the world, and many artists have produced works dealing with these tragic events in an effort to inform the wider world of them and to ensure the stories are passed down to future generations. This exhibition will look at how art deals with personal tragedies as well as the major catastrophes that strike communities, and at the role art can play in recovery. The exhibition will include works by Isaac Julien and Gillian Wearing from the UK.
