The mischievous bunny Peter Rabbit remains a beloved figure all over the world. The story of Peter Rabbit began as an illustrated letter sent by the English author Beatrix Potter to a young boy who was sick in bed to cheer him up. Modelled on Potter’s own pet rabbit, the book has provided countless readers with pleasant dreams since it was first published in 1902. This exhibition, a celebration of the adorable bunny’s 120th birthday, sheds light on the creation of The Tale of Peter Rabbit as well the world depicted in the story through a collection of original drawings and other items, some of which have never been shown outside the UK.
