Aubrey Beardsley (1872-1898) is known for his highly sophisticated works, consisting of precise line drawings and bold black and white colour planes. This exhibition, organized jointly with the Victoria and Albert Museum, will feature approximately 220 of Beardsley’s works, including illustrations and rare hand drawings from his early to later years, such as Malory’s Le Morte d’Arthur (1893-94), Wilde’s Salome (1894), Gautier’s Mademoiselle de Maupin (1898) etc. In addition, the exhibition will also feature coloured posters and contemporary decorations.
