Visit to Shizuoka City Museum of History

The William Adams Club will visit the new Shizuoka City Museum of History which prominently features British cultural exchange during the Tokugawa (early Edo) period in a colourful and engaging exhibition. A “replacement” for the telescope sent by King James 1st to the “Emperor of Japan”, received by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1613 is the pride of place in the first museum room.
