The Society will hold a joint event with The St. David’s Society Japan, inviting Lord Mostyn from Wales. Lord Mostyn kindly accepted to give us a lecture entitled “My involvement with Wales and Japan”. He will be talking about his family’s long connection with Japan and his attempts to foster Wales-Japan relations and to promote Japanese tourism in Wales. (The lecture is in English.)

Baron Mostyn, of Mostyn in the County of Flint/ Wales, is a title in the Peerage of the UK. It was created in 1831 for Sir Edward Lloyd, 2nd Baronet, who had earlier represented Flint Boroughs and Beaumaris in the House of Commons. Gregory Philip Roger Lloyd-Mostyn is the 7th Baron Mostyn, who succeeded in 2011. He owns Mostyn Hall, Mostyn Estates and a vast amount of land of Wales. His family’s close connections with East Asian countries date back to the early 20th century and Lord Gregory Mostyn has made several visits to Japan and speaks good Japanese.
