In autumn 2011, Sylvie Guillem and the Tokyo Ballet held a Japan tour named Hope Japan, visiting cities in the areas worst affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Ten years on, the Tokyo Ballet is going on another tour entitled Hope Japan 2021, on which they will perform Maurice Bejart’s masterpieces Bolero, Danses grecques, Bugaku, and Pas de deux from Romeo and Juliet. The aim of the tour is to inspire hope for reconstruction from the 2011 earthquake and also for recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. https://www.nbs.or.jp
