The William Adams Club will visit the new Shizuoka City Museum of History which prominently features British cultural exchange during the Tokugawa (early Edo) period in a colourful and engaging exhibition. A “replacement” for the telescope sent by King James 1st to the “Emperor of Japan”, received by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1613 is the pride of place in the first museum room.
