The Sannomaru Shozokan Museum of the Imperial Palace is closed for renovation, and exhibitions of its treasures are being held in various places around Japan. At Koriyama City Museum of Art, masterpieces of modern paintings such as those by Kano Eitoku, Tawaraya Sotatsu, and Ogata Korin from the collection of the Sannomaru Shozokan will be exhibited, as well as a number of historical Western paintings from the early Meiji period, masterpieces by modern Japanese painters such as Yokoyama Taikan and Higashiyama Kaii, and works by Koriyama native Watanabe Senpo, etc. In addition, items relating to the late Princess Chichibu, who was the Honorary Patron of the Japan-British Society will also be shown.
