Former British Consulate General in Yokohama

The new exhibition rooms at the former British Consulate General in Yokohama opened to the public in April this year. The current building is a Georgian-style structure made of reinforced concrete, rebuilt in 1931 by the British Ministry of Works, replacing the consulate that collapsed in the Great Kanto Earthquake. During the recent restoration work, the original doors, window frames, and interior colours were discovered and restored to their original colours through the investigation of old traces remaining in the building. https://kaikou.yokohama-history.org/
