Welsh Launch of The Sakura Cherry Tree Project was held in Cardiff, Wales on 4th December 2020. It was attended by Mrs Morfudd Meredith, CStJ, Lord Lieutenant of South Glamorgan,
Ambassador Yasumasa Nagamine, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Court of St. James, Embassy of Japan in the United Kingdom,
Rt. Hon Mark Drakeford, MS, First Minister of Wales, Welsh Government and
Mr Keisaku Sano, Chairman of the Sakura Cherry Tree Project.

Over five thousand cherry trees will be planted throughout the UK, of which approximately, one thousand will be planted in Wales in 2020 and into 2021.
