ESUJ New Year’s Lecture How 40 years of studying Japan has changed the way I think about Britain

The English-Speaking Union of Japan (ESUJ) presents New Year’s Lecture by Professor Roger Goodman, Warden of St. Antony’s College, Oxford. He is a social anthropologist who has been engaged in research on Japan for over four decades, based mainly at the Nissan Institute of Japanese Studies in Oxford. How has Japanese society appeared to his analytical eyes? This is a valuable opportunity for us to share his insights into Japanese education and social policy and how it has changed the way he thinks about and looks at British society today. (The lecture is in English.)
