Corin Robertson was appointed British Ambassador to Japan in August 2026. She is a career diplomat and this is her second posting to Japan. After completing two years of Japanese language training, she served as a Second Secretary at the British Embassy in Japan from 1996 to 2000. Subsequently, she held various positions such as FCDO Chief Operating Officer, Director General for Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Ambassador to Mexico, etc.
Grew up in Sheffield, she graduated from Queens’ College, Cambridge in 1994. She is married with 2 children. She is passionate about diversity and inclusion and is also an executive coach and mentor. Her hobbies include reading, exercise, dog walking and spending time with her family. She has kindly assumed the post of President of the Japan-British Society.
