Lecture Series on Children and Society “Envisioning a World We Live Together: How Children’s Books Open the Way to an Inclusive Future”

“Bookstart” was conceived in 1992 by Ms. Wendy Cooling, a picture book consultant in Birmingham. She wanted all children to experience the joy of reading. She came up with the idea of giving every baby a picture book along with the experience of being read to. This is how “Bookstart” began as a city initiative. Ms. Alex Strick, a specialist in children’s literature and inclusion from the UK will be invited for a lecture and discussion. For more details, please visit;
