Kazuo Ishiguro’s debut novel, A Pale View of Hills, was written in 1982 and won the Royal Society of Literature Award. The story is set in his birthplace of Nagasaki in the 1950s, shortly after the war, and England in the 1980s.
This is a human mystery that unravels the secrets of “memories” that intertwine across time and place. Ishiguro himself is listed as an executive producer. Directed by Kei Ishikawa. Starring: Suzu Hirose, Fumi Nikaido, Yo Yoshida, and others. This film is showing from 5th September at Toho Cinemas Hibiya and other cinemas.
