On 27th November, a launch planting ceremony of the cherry trees was held at the Regent’s Park in London. HRH The Duke of Gloucester, Ambassador Yasumasa Nagamine, Mr Loyd Grossman (Chairman of The Royal Parks) and Mr Keisaku Sano (Chairman of Sakura Cherry Tree Project) attended this ceremony as well as representatives of companies and individuals who provided funds for this project. There were also children from Robinsfield Infant School and George Eliot Primary School, where some cherry trees will be planted.
