This work is a shocking piece that depicts the mental distress and downfall of a soldier in poverty, and it is a popular work that has been repeatedly performed around the world as a milestone of 20th-century opera. The production is directed by British director Richard Jones. The demanding role of Wozzeck, which requires advanced performance skills, will be performed by world-renowned star Thomas Johannes Mayer, who also sang the same role at the New National Theatre in 2009. Arnold Bezuyen will play the Captain, John Daszak will play the Drum Major, and Jennifer Davis will appear as Marie.
