Nogami Toyoichiro (1883-1950) was a student of Natsume Soseki at First Higher School and the University of Tokyo. He married Yaeko when they were both students, and Yaeko was also taught by Soseki. Toyoichiro is now known as a Noh researcher. He gave a lecture on Zeami at Cambridge University in 1938 and contributed to the introduction of Noh culture to the world. This year marks the 140th anniversary of Toyoichiro’s birth, and you can learn about the relationship between Natsume Soseki and Toyoichiro and Yaeko through this exhibition. https://soseki-museum.jp/
