The Gakushuin University Museum of History, which opened in 1975, was renewed and reopened this March as the Kasumi Kaikan Memorial Gakushuin Museum. To commemorate the opening, the exhibition “Gakushuin Collection Patronage of Imperial Household for the Arts and Culture” is being held. The Society has organised a special visit with explanations by the curator (in Japanese). From a collection of approximately 250,000 items related to Gakushuin, which has been an educational institution for the imperial family, royalty, and aristocracy, about 100 pieces will be displayed, including paintings, crafts, ancient documents, and literary materials.
