The Society is honoured that HIH Princess Akiko of Mikasa has accepted an invitation to give a lecture on “English Tea and Japanese Tea”. The lecture will be in Japanese. (Please note that only members and their accompanied guests can join this event.)

HIH Princess Akiko of Mikasa: After graduating from Gakushuin University, HIH Princess Akiko of Mikasa studied at Merton College, University of Oxford, where she carried out research on Japanese art abroad, earning a DPhil in 2010. Among other posts she holds, she is now a Visiting Researcher at Hosei University Research Center for International Japanese Studies, a Visiting Researcher at Kinugasa Research Organisation, Ritsumeikan University, a Guest Professor at Kyoto City University of Arts, a Guest Research Fellow at the Archival Research Center, Kyoto City University of Arts, and a Professor at the Institute of Japanese Culture, Kyoto Sangyo University. She is also Patron of “Shinyusha”, where children study Japanese culture.
