Mr Katsura Yamaguchi (President, Christie’s Japan) will give a talk on Japanese Woodblock Prints and Tsutaya Juzaburo. (The lecture will be in Japanese.) Christie’s Japan (a corporate member) has kindly offered their office premises for this occasion.


Mr Katsura Yamaguchi was born in Tokyo. He joined Christie’s in 1992 and has been working as a specialist in Japanese and Asian Art. For over 19 years overseas, he made significant achievements including the sale of the Fujita Art Museum collection and a private sale of 190 pieces from the Price Collection, famous for the works of Ito Jakuchu, to the Idemitsu Museum of Arts. He became president of Christie’s Japan in 2018. He is also a member of the Board of several societies including International UKIYO-E Society and The Adachi Foundation. A part-time lecturer at Kyoto University of the Arts Graduate School. His recent publications include “Shinumade ni Shitteokitai Nihon Bijutsu”(Shueisha Shinsho).
