“Wales and Japan 2025” aims to stimulate new economic and cultural partnerships between the two nations, bringing long-lasting benefits to both countries. On this occasion, Mr. Toshiaki Sakurai will talk on the theme of Wales. (The lecture will be in Japanese)

St David is a mysterious cathedral in southwestern Wales. In the 12th century, there was a militant monk who stood alone against England and fought for the church’s independence from this cathedral. His name is Gerald of Wales. Mr. Sakurai will talk about the history and charm of Wales.

Mr Toshiaki Sakurai
A historian and essayist specializing in pre-modern British history. Graduated from the Department of History, University College London. His books include Sengoku Britain, Scotland Zenshi, Monogatai Wales Kousenshi.
