“Queen of Mystery”, Agatha Christie is not just a famous mystery writer, she’s the best selling novelist of all time in the world. JBS will hold an afternoon lecture inviting Dr. Yoshie Itani who is a chairwoman of the Japan Coffee Cultural Association and the author of “Agatha Christie and Coffee”. (Lecture is in Japanese). After the lecture, members will enjoy cake and coffee (or tea) with the lecturer.

Dr. Yoshie Itani is a Project Professor at Tokyo University of the Arts and Teikyo University, and works as a part-time lecturer at several universities. She has a Master’s degree with distinction in Art History from SOAS, University of London and a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Oxford’s Oriental Institute. Her specialty is Japanese Modern Art History and Cultural Studies. Her published works include Agatha Christie and Coffee (Inaho Shobo Publishing, 2019) and Yabu Meizan no Sekai (The Glorious World of Yabu Meizan) (Inaho Shobo Publishing, 2020). She is also chairwoman of both the Japan Coffee Cultural Association and the Japan Porcelain Society.
