The Tokyo Ballet presents Pierre Lacotte’s version of La Sylphide. Based on the Taglioni version, it was choreographed for the Paris Opera Ballet by Lacotte, who brought new life to the masterpiece by collecting and assembling pieces from original sources. Pierre Lacotte has placed great confidence in Artistic Director Yukari Saito as repetiteur of La Sylphide, and the ballet has become an essential part of The Tokyo Ballet’s repertoire. NBS website
