William Burrell was a shipping magnate from Glasgow, which flourished as the UK’s foremost seaport during the industrial revolution. He gathered a collection of works of art spanning ages, borders and genres, and gifted it to the City of Glasgow in 1944. Focusing on fine French paintings but also including works by Scottish and Dutch artists, this exhibition features 73 works.
