This is a masterpiece by Martin McDonagh, a British-Irish playwright and film director. Contrasting McDonagh’s many works set in Ireland, this was his first work set in a different, fictional country. Winner of the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play in 2004, and the 2004-2005 New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Foreign Play. A Japanese cast will perform this play at the New National Theatre Tokyo, translated and directed by Eriko Ogawa.
