An English translation of ¡È1Q84¡É was published in the UK in October 2011, and was very news worthy. George Orwell¡Çs ¡È1984¡É was focused on again after Haruki Murakami¡Çs ¡È1Q84¡É came out.
Prof. Kentaro Oishi, who is a former chairman of the Japan George Orwell Society, will talk on Orwell and his masterpiece ¡È1984¡É. He will also touch on the connection between the two books, ¡È1984¡Éand ¡È1Q84¡É. (The lecture will be in Japanese.)

Kentaro Oishi
is a professor at Digital Hollywood University and a part-time professor at Waseda University, Hosei University and Tsurumi University. He established the Orwell Archives in Waseda University and was the former Chairman of the Orwell Society in Japan. He wrote many essays and thesies on George Orwell as well as translations into Japanese of such books as ¡ÈOrwell Remembered¡É by Audrey Coppard & Bernard Crick and ¡ÈA Reader¡Çs Guide to George Orwell¡É by Jeffrey Meyers.
